Ixtur is a Finnish magnet technology company. Our technology is based on bi-stable permanent magnets, which can remain in either of their two states ("hold" or "release") without using energy. The switching can be controlled either electrically or pneumatically, and it requires only a very small amount of energy. In battery-powered applications, thousands of switches are possible with one battery charge.

Greifer für Roboter - Ixtur Pneumatische Magnete
Ixtur verfügt über eine breite Palette von pneumatisch betätigten Magneten, die sich als Robotergreifer für die industrielle Automation eignen.
Ixtur MRP-20NK, MRP-42K und MAP-40 sind pneumatisch betätigte Magnete für Roboter.
Ixtur MRP-20NK und MRP-42K sind für flache und runde Oberflächen geeignet. Der MRP-20NK Magnet ist für schmale Lasten optimiert. Die Tragfähigkeit des Ixtur MRP-20NK beträgt 20 kg für flache und 13 kg für runde Ladungen (Sicherheitsfaktor 3). Der Ixtur MRP-42K hat eine Tragfähigkeit von 42 kg für flache und 27 kg für runde Teile (Sicherheitsfaktor 3).
Ixtur MAP-40 ist für flache Lasten geeignet. Die Tragfähigkeit von Ixtur MAP-40 beträgt 40 kg (Sicherheitsfaktor 3).
Diese Magnete haben eine geringe Resthaftkraft. Die Magnete sind als Robotergreifer, für Vorrichtungen und Produktionsautomatisierung geeignet. Die Kombination aus einer starken Hebekraft und einer geringen Resthaftkraft machen diese Magnete zur optimalen Wahl als Greifer für Roboter.

How about if I lift it from the side? What's the sear force capicity?
When the gripping surface of the magnet is in vertical orientation, the coefficient of friction determines how much of the magnetic gripping force is available for lifting. Steel-on-steel friction coefficients vary widely depending on the data source. The range is 0.1 - 0.8. The low friction coefficients are especially valid with surfaces having oil or cooling fluid residue.

The magnets do not include a sensor or a pre-arranged arrangement for mounting a sensor.

Is it possible to mount in to an antigravity arm?
Yes, it would be possible to mount Ixtur magnet to an antigravity arm. To control the magnet, you need a valve that allows air come out from one air connector when air is supplied to the other air connector of the magnet.
what load can that device handle when object it vertical - whats holding force stopping slide I wonder
The required lifting capacity depends on the friction. The coefficient of friction of steel surfaces lubricated with oil or cutting fluid would be about 0.15. So the gripping force must be seven times the value needed to lift a horizontal object. For dry or rough surfaces, the situation would be better, but the coefficients of friction vary greatly depending on the source of the data.

Hello, Ixtur MAP and MRP magnets are pneumatically controlled permanent magnets, which means they do not need electricity to work. In electromagnets, the magnetic field is generated by electric current in a coil. In pneumatic permanent magnets, the magnetic field is generated by a neodymium core inside the magnet, and the magnet’s ON/OFF operation is based on the movement of that core from one position to another. Pneumatic magnets also keep their magnetic state in case of lost air pressure, whereas with electromagnets, the magnetic field is lost in case of a power connection failure.
